Hello! This is one of my tour stops during my one month book tour for Time to Say Goodbye by Parker J. Cole. This virtual book tour is organized by Write Now Literary Book Tours. This tour runs March 5-30, 2018.  Follow the tour here.  Book your own tour here WNL.

Interview with Parker J. Cole:

Crystal: Today I have the pleasure of hosting Parker J. Cole! Welcome, Parker! I am so excited to have you here today. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?

Parker: What anyone should know about me is that I love to talk. I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people. If I had one wish in the world, I’d love to be fluent in every language in the world. People have stories to tell and I’d like to hear them.

Another thing that may or may not be interesting is my love of Mountain Dew. Oh I know, I know. “Parker, Mountain Dew’s the worst of them all!” Yeah, yeah. So I consider myself an off and on Mountain Dew recovering addict.

A substitute for the void the sugar left behind, I write, I speak, and I am the CEO of PJC Media, a Christian talk podcast network.

Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?

Parker: My favorite scene in Time to Say Goodbye is when Leon Reckley, a man who grew up as trailer trash ate a samosa for the first time. This whole scene reflects the first time I had a samosa myself and started to become acquainted with Indian cuisine. Food brings people together. Good food keeps people together!

Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for Time to Say Goodbye?

Parker: The title was unusually hard to come up this time. For most of my books, the title is the easy part. In this regard, I couldn’t think of a thing. Then one day, I was listening to some classical music on YouTube and eventually I came to Andrea Bocelli’s song “Time to Say Goodbye.” When I heard the song, I knew thing, “That’s it! That’s it!”

Crystal: What are you currently working on?

Parker: I am working on several projects but the most prominent one is called The Element of Yu which is the third book of the Michigan Sweet series.

Crystal: Do you have any special routine that you follow when you are writing?

Parker: I don’t really have a routine but I do have to have a certain atmosphere. My dog, Sarah, must be with me. She’ll lay her warm, fuzzy body on my feet and I’m feeling cozy. Then I have to have either the TV on in the other room or some music playing. Mountain Dew nearby. We are set!

Crystal: Did you have to do a lot of research this book or any other?

Parker: For Time to Say Goodbye, I had to reach out to all my Indian friends to ensure I incorporated aspects of Indian culture accurately. For the chronic illness one of my characters suffered, I enlisted the help of a dear friend. Regarding Leon’s trailer trash background, I had to research some redneck jokes and idioms to incorporate. Lots of fun

Crystal: Who are some of your favorite authors that you like to read?

Parker: I love to read dozens of authors so I can’t just narrow it to just one or two!

Crystal: Is there a genre you haven't written that you would like to try?

Parker: I am working on a project in a genre I’ve never worked on before. It’s a science fiction story. I’m very excited about it.

About The Book:

Gargi Kapoor is the only one convinced her brother, Dev, is innocent of the crime he was convicted of. When he is sent to the hospital with an unexplained paralyzing disease she finds herself having to lean on the last person she'd ever want to depend on -- a man who wants her brother to pay for stealing his mother's life savings.

Leon Reckley is extremely satisfied to find the man who ripped his mother off suffering from an unknown disease that leaves him paralyzed and in need of rehabilitation therapeutic services. He's even happier when he is given the opportunity to be the therapist that makes him fit enough to return to prison to finish his sentence. No one will work harder to make sure Dev Kapoor serves every minute of his prison sentence.

Gargi never dreamed the man who has utter contempt for her brother would be the man she slowly begins to trust. Leon never thought he'd be convinced Dev might be innocent, let alone be drawn to his enemy's little sister. Together, will they find the truth? Or when Leon's job is over, will it simply be time to say goodbye?
